Selling House - Broken Appliance responsibility

@CSI_Yorkshire I'm not being defensive, I just think it's a ridiculous comment that I should be the one to provide basic cleaning products for the new owner. As I already said, they have been made aware of the situation so it's not like they're turning up with no idea.
Besides, even if the dishwasher was working they should still bring a sponge and washing liquid, it's just common sense and with me and my partner working full time, looking after a toddler, arranging a move away from the area we know and all that comes with that (moving out clean and moving in clean, packing, removals, moving important utilities, time off work, arranging new nursery provisions etc) and being pregnant and having to facilitate the transfer of all my medical care, I have enough on my plate and they can get their own bloody soap 😂1 -
If I'd bought a house and there was a 'sudden' dishwasher failure prior to sale, I'd have found it quite amusing for there to be a bottle of fairy and a pair of marigolds in the space.Katapolt said:I'm not being defensive, I just think it's a ridiculous comment that I should be the one to provide basic cleaning products for the new owner. I'm with you on that one @Katapolt
(Though @CSI_Yorkshire made me laugh re leaving a bottle of fairy and some washing up gloves in the space where the dishwasher sat...)0 -
If I’d found a pair of marigolds and some washing up liquid, and a note that read ‘we removed the broken dishwasher but no matter, you’ve 2 of your own, crack on’ I’d have been chuckling too.Honi swanky malyponze. Or something.2

Why? I'm not their mum, if they don't know you need these things when moving in then lord help them.NameUnavailable said:At the very least I'd leave a pack of washing up sponges, a bottle of fairy liquid (other brands are available) and a couple of tea towels.
I think it was in lieu of having a working dishwasher - FTB expected method of cleaning dishes, FTB gets method of cleaning dishes. Why so oddly defensive OP?Mstty said:Never left cleaning products. Clean cupboards where they used to sit yes.
What a weird reply lol0 -
In the space left by the disposed of dishwasher?NameUnavailable said:At the very least I'd leave a pack of washing up sponges, a bottle of fairy liquid (other brands are available) and a couple of tea towels.
I assumed tongue in cheek.1
