Thanks for thread and welcome to newbies.
We've flown ahead this week, having had overnight visitors (plus lovely whippet) so did most of the week's flying on Saturday.
Still wading through unhelpful admin and endless medical 'stuff'.
- Friday I finally received the scan and pressure reports from my optician. Took them to eye clinic to pass on to whoever is reviewing the tests they did. No go - it took one admin, a nurse and a passing whoever to assure me that they couldn't provide me with any email address to whom I could send my reports. Confidential apparently. One suggested that I print them off, bring them into the eye clinic on Monday so they could scan them in....But I've got them here, now I said brandishing my phone. Blank looks. One suggested that my optician emailed them. .....(me) but they have; I've got them on my phone. Blank denial of any email system. (me) It can't be confidential - they are my eyes and my scan and I'm saying you can have them....... Final suggestion was still to print them off......we're talking about high definition multicolour imaging here...it would take a gallon of my printer ink.
- After the speedy date being offered to Mr N about his hernia op (Thursday) he is now awaiting confirmation from rheumatologist that he is safe for the op as it will only be 8 days after his arthritis injection and not 2 weeks, as the hospital thinks is needed. 3 messages left but no reply so we're assuming he will be operated on this week and following the very strict antibacterial regime of clean bedlinen and towels every day......almost all my flying today seemed to be stripping beds, washing, hanging out, bringing in and re-making beds.
- R finally had his op on Thursday. We went to see him on Friday but he made little sense with all the morphine so we will go tomorrow as we've had updates from his daughter.
However I have also done the 4th flower arrangement of the weekend (1 for host of yesterday's dinner; 1 for guest bedroom, 1 for dining table and 1 for the lovely neighbour who keeps leaving eggs on the doorstep - in a box I add hastily!).
Checked greenhouse, done lots of deadheading.
Still culling old emails and putting CPD on log book online. Sent a couple of emails (letter length) to friends I'd been meaning to contact.
Went to Body Pump this morning. Trying to build everything up as not long till the aquathlon; last Thurs i went for a run in the morning then Pilates and a short swim in the afternoon. Fri I ran, Sat was lake swim.
Gym swim tomorrow and I must remember to go to the sorting office - owing to understaffing, we are still only getting post once every 7-10days but are invited to collect from nearest town. Who knows what medical letters may be therein.
Have a great week Valli and get well wishes to all ailing flyladies and flyfamilies.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.9 -

Fabulous news, Natty! Finally!
Valli, I have serious pottery envy…
Hugs to one and all, especially to Kazm for all the coping. Donating a brick wall for Narc0 to hit her head against - I agree with Piggers, medical secretaries are the way to go.
Well, I will probably just cheer from the sidelines for this week. I am living in a building site and the dust gets everywhere. I even went to work for most of the day today, in preference to listening to the banging. I left that job to DH 😈. Picked up a click and collect on my way home (new lights), have done 2 loads of washing (now that there is electricity and water, plus it’s warm outside to at least dry the washing a bit), and got dinner going in the sc. Mr M delivered first thing, so I have squirrelled that away. Made a couple of misjudgements, so dinners could be….interesting….this week. DD came home from her holidays, and is packing to set off tomorrow to work until after the weekend.
Off to oogle Valli’s pottery link….6 -
great stuff Natty…i’m expecting lots of *fling* posts…congratulayions
i now, finally, have my Azure coast serving bowl. I am going to choose something to list on ebay … i have two bowls and 3 covered dishes, so at least one will go to free up some space.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
