Hi - does anyone know how long it normally takes for Octopus to credit your £50 sign on credit payment?  I gave them a code when I signed on but no sign of the credit being applied so far (sswitched on 11th July).

(they have also not collected a payment yet either - seems like they will only start collecting it from my normal payment date in August, contrary to what was initially stated, but should be fine as I think I am saving more than I expected already - maybe they only apply the credit once they've received a first payment?).

I would email them, they are usually very responsive

You guessed correctly that is when referral credit is applied

I referred someone last November but still haven't had the credit because (due to the £400 grant, existing credit transferred and SEG payments) they haven't actually paid a penny to Octopus yet.

If possible, get them to pay just £1 and it will trigger the credits for you both, can be done using 'make a one off payment' option online. I had to do this a couple of months after I moved to Octopus last year as my account was in credit due to SEG payments and I could see that might go on for a while.

I still haven't needed to pay anything to Octopus, due to SEG, government £400, 2 further referral payments and credits from last years Savings Sessions.

Octopus failed to set up/take my direct debit at sign up, and then also missed the first regular direct debit, so I logged on and paid that across. Got my sign up bonus straight after that.

Got my signing on bung today having switched on 21st July -so 3+ weeks.
Re Octopus and DDs - my first DD was due to be taken on 27th July but it wasn't - queried and was told that it was too soon for banking details to be set up - they then took the 1st DD on the 10th August(that should have been the 2nd DD according to the original emails). I also received two emails suggesting first DD would be 21st September ! No idea where that came from.

I seem to be in a similar situation - still waiting for a £50 singing-on credit - since 14 July. Was also told I would be initially billed on 28th July but still no bill or any payment taken. Queried with Octopus and awaiting clarification.

Tomorrow if my first normal payment date since the Direct Debit would have been activated, and the payment is showing up as "pending" in my Octopus account since yesterday so I guess something will happen tomorrow.
