How to get rid of ants?

Where abouts are the ants - house or garden?
If in the house, just keep everywhere, spotlessly, clean and use that Nippon type stuff they take back to the nests. Dethlac spray is pet safe and stops them from wandering too far afield as well.
The ones currently digging up my lawn. I’m just leaving them be.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

And put the pots on 'feet'.Stones or brick bits will do just to get them off the ground so the ants won't nest there.

Ants herd the aphids together on plants, keeping them captive by releasing chemicals through their feet that subdue the aphids to ensure they remain under their control. They 'milk' the aphids by stroking their abdomen to coax them to secrete their honeydew.2

In the one pot that seems to attract ants (and aphids), I use nippon in a plastic device designed to enable the use of liquid feed outdoors - I refill it when it becomes empty.1
