Good afternoon everyone .
Having a wee issue with EE been a happy customer since 2010 no complaints no missed payments.

mobile internet on EE is non existent in my work place. Its always been sketchy but now i get nothing at all. did some experiments with colleagues phones. In most cases older and on about a 6th of the price im paying. jumped through all the hoops for a month . Re set setting new sim. 5 hours of calls. EE say i have to pay a grand to cancel my contract. In my opinion if their competitors can provide with the service they cant surely i have grounds to cancel. Maybe im wrong there.
One of their managers suggested i use my company wifi!!!!
Is it true they only guarantee phone signal not mobile internet indoors.
Its now a failure to agree and they have sent me a letter to contact financial ombudsman. I dont have this in hand yet.
FYI two other colleagues have the same issue and have raised complaints. i make satellite parts so lot of frequencies bouncing around this room but its not affecting the other networks only EE . Ive proven this.
Any idea where i stand i dont want to give them another penny i also don't want to lose the number ive had since 98 !
cheers

No network guarantees a signal level Inside as it depends on the construction of the building and things like trees.
No network guarantees a fault free service in all locations. If you can use the phone elsewhere then you rely on goodwill to cancel.
Tesco and Giffgaff run on O2 so it's no surprise that they have the same signal.
O2 and Vodafone use different frequencies and will have masts in different locations so you would expect their coverage to be different.
I think you are unlikely to get a result in your favour from the Ombudsman.

You won’t get anywhere with the ombudsman. Signal isn’t guaranteed indoors or outdoors in any one location.0

£1k to exit suggests you have only just entered into a new handset and service contract renewal.
There is no guarantee that you will get a signal in any location, so getting out of a contract due to that is a good will gesture not a right which they don't often give.
If it is a recent change and given where you work, it could be the 3G network shutdown programme. Were you connecting on 3G before and that is no longer there? Could be that EE are the first to switch off their 3G transmitter in your area and the other are yet to do so.
Wifi calling is an option for many? Do your company provide a wifi network that you can connect personal device to? If you can and your phone supports wifi calling / texting then you can get your service that way.1 -

Its not an option we do military and other projects covered by official secrets act etc im not allowed my phone on it.
why should i need to im paying them for mobile internet
im not allowed onto the wifi. Wifi calling is for calls right? The only calls ive made the last week were to EE to complain about this issue.
It's mobile internet i'm not receiving. All other netwroks are providing it ive tested it with other handsets on those netwroks sitting next to min i watch their speed test rattle up and my new phone does not connect.
As i stated im sure there are reasons ee does not work given all the RF flying around this box im in but its not an issue with their competitiors ive literally tested this and proved it.
the issue is specific to ee. Yes im 4 months into a new contract i was just lumping it until i decided to check other phones in the same building.
Cheers

I might be missing something here, but how often do you use your phone when you’re at work given that you are there to work.
Surely it’s a bigger issue if you can’t get a signal at home or when you’re out and about? If you get in a perfectly adequate signal everywhere else, I can’t see that you have got much scope to have your contract cancelled. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.2 -
Not sure why you are completely ignoring what people are telling you?
Also, how are you allowed your phone if there are "military and other projects covered by the official secrets act" let alone get different phones SIMs to test?
Also, if you are testing RF then surely you are working in a Faraday cage otherwise you wouldn't be able distinguish the source.2 -
And just what is wrong with connecting to the company wifi while at work? Do you never use wifi anywhere?1

Do you work for EE 🤣🤣The sort of people who might have Electronic Engineering degrees and understand the maths behind signal strengths etc. But don’t work for EE.I find that forum members tend to respond in the same way people post and get frustrated when posts answering the question are overlooked.1
