Be careful of roaming in Corfu

Like most people  travelling abroad to certain countries you get "home from home" - I'm with Tesco.

Just want to make people aware of some specific issues that can crop up in Corfu.

Today was travelling to north Eastern side and the network switches (or can switch) from the Greek partner network to an Albanian one. Phone in bag so never realised and switches to a 5£/mb tariff.

Thankfully I have a cap on additional costs but the 5 £ was incurred basically the instant it switched. Terrifying to think how much could have been racked up if uncapped.

Its safer to only turn on data when you need it and then shut it off when you've finished, that way you don't get connected to unwanted providers. Its even worse if your apps decide to update on their own.
Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers

Yes, harking back to the (what I thought were) old days where people went on holiday and were unaware they were racking up 1000s of pounds of bills
