Nat West and Hooyu

I will try phoning Nat West again tomorrow if I have a spare few hours.

I am looking for advice on my Nat West ISA application as a new customer which requires me to do ID verification via Hooyu.

I got sent a text and email with a link and I uploaded photo ID (driving licence), did a "liveness check" via webcam and proof of address was from my driving licence. I got 3 green ticks and was then told "You've completed the ID checks - thumbs up".

Yesterday morning, however, I got the same text and email as the day before and it wanted me to do the ID verification. I did it all again with the same successful result as the previous evening.

This morning, like groundhog day, I got the same text and email requesting ID verification. It is not saying that I failed the first 2 times. It is as if it has not registered that I have already done it, twice.

Any tips or advice would be welcome.

When you do the Hooya ID check make sure there is plenty of light in the room

I am not having any problems passing the individual checks. It is giving me 3 green ticks and a big thumbs up... then asking me to do it again the next day.
  • HooYu doesn't work.  This morning, I successfully uploaded a photo of my passport and a photo of the current me.  Two ticks!  But there was then no way to proceed.  'Help' suggested that Google Chrome was blocking the next Pop-Up window.  I checked.  It wasn't.  Reading the reviews on Trustpilot, it seems that many, many people are having similar experiences - and the stories of trips to physical branches or being in telephone queues for hours are so horrendous, that I am simply going elsewhere.  Why have a difficult life when there is no need?
Bottom line - if Nat West has a basic computer program that fails so many people, do you trust Nat West to be able to look after your finances?  I don't.
