EE mobile reduced monthly?

Just checking if the phone call I have just had from EE offering a reduction in monthly bills for my two sims with no loss of extras(Apple TV, TNT Sport etc) is genuine or not. Have other people had such calls. I have finished my two year contract with them and the foreign gentleman said it was not a new contract, just reduced monthly bill. I’m skepticAl and thing it is a scam.

020 45714783 was the number.
He is saying something will arrive in the morning.

I had a similar call from 'o2' on Saturday. I have never been with o2. I strung them along for as long as I could with lots of thinking time and 'ok sounds great' before I had to get on with real life.

General rule, if it sounds too good to be true.....

Never give out any personal or banking info to a cold caller and never quote them an authorisation code as it could allow them to access your accounts.
  • I called EE and they said it was a scam. The person that called had my mobile and address. I did not respond to a follow up call or the Pin they sent. If I had not gone through the EE page and initiated the chat with EE the way they sent their pin to confirm it was me was the same as the scam. I will keep an eye on things.

That means they were trying to login to your ee account, if they got hold of that pin they could have changed passwords and addresses and ordered phones. I suspect sometimes gangs infiltrate call centres to get hold of customer info, other scams though are less sophisticated and just ring up random numbers.
