Tapo P110 Firmware Update

Hi,
I see my Tapo app is prompting me to apply a firmware update to the devices. Has anyone done that with the latest update (v1.2.3)?

Update I applied changed the format of stored data or something, meaning it showed rubbish until I reset to delete all history. I would prefer to know in advance if this is going to happen this time as well.

Cheers

Can't answer your question, but it's just reminded me of something a couple of days ago on the DIY forum.

Someone had just bought a Tapo to measure their fridge, and were told by the customer service call centre that they needed to "calibrate the device with the wattage of the appliance being measured" before it would work properly.

I'd never heard anything like that reported before - perhaps that was the CS rep also being confused by a change in data storage?

Isn’t that the Tapo app itself not the device firmware the OP mentioned?

Possibly, I have a variety of Kasa and Tapo devices and none have ever needed an update.

All of mine did when first configured. Now the application is showing a flag indicating new firmware available.  If you dont see that, maybe you've set yours to automatically update.

I've been on that version for 2+ months, As it was new and had no real important data i can't remember if the update wiped it or i chose to wipe it clean.
