Recommendations for an energy company

Yes, I was with Zog for 2 months before they went bust but my electricity has been supplied by them for over 6 years. I changed to Zog purely on price and I was back with Octopus 30 days after EDF became the SoLR. So in fact my time with Octopus for gas is just under 6 years. I should add that I would have probably stayed with Zog for gas as its CS was exceptional as it should be with only 13000 customers.bristolleedsfan said:
Are you the same Dolor forum member Summer 2021 when on very cheap Octopus electricity tariff switched gas to Zog Energy for cheaper fixed rate with exit fees or I thinking of another Dolor with similar username.Dolor said:We know you are all massively evangelical about your supplier, but it is not helping. For someone of the OP’s posted age, a parent would no doubt have told her ‘better the Devil that you know rather than one that you don’t’. That is what my late Mum used to say to all of her 4 children along with ‘frying pan into the fire’. It is always worth taking a moment to reflect before making any decision.
The truth is that nobody knows until things go awry how good or bad a supplier’s CS is. Even then a CS response may not be indicative of how a supplier normally works.
Nothing wrong with that I did same myself ( as have others who champion Octo cause on forum) kept one fuel with Octopus switched other fuel out to make better gains, I am just pointing out some are not as not as loyal to Octopus as is being portrayed.( no reason why anyone should be either)1 -
If all one wants is good CS I would suggest that 100Green (was GE UK) are pretty good but you will have a more basic offering in terms of bells & whistles in terms or reports available etc. than from e.g. Octopus & you will pay more.t0rt0ise said:In short, there aren't any supply companies with good customer service. So just try one, move on and try the next. I've tried them all over the years.
One has to weigh up one's own various requirements & choose accordingly - what may be the ideal solution for one may not be for another.1 -
