Hi,
A very quick question to those of you who use Shawbrook. As a completely new customer how quick and easy is it to open an ISA and have it ready to be funded. Can it all be done on line or is there paperwork /ID needed to send? I wont be transferring in but opening a new one to fund separately.
Thanks

Have had easy access, fixed bond and ISA with them, and all of them were incredibly easy instant online set up.
The absolute opposite of Natwest that needed 3 or 4 separate hoops to be jumped through.

Hi I have read good things already from people using them but wasn't sure on initial setting up as a new customer. Good to know when I'm ready I wont have an unexpected 2 week wait and lots of faffing

Setting a new ISA up that you're putting "new" money into - seamless.gele said:Hi I have read good things already from people using them but wasn't sure on initial setting up as a new customer. Good to know when I'm ready I wont have an unexpected 2 week wait and lots of faffing
Asking them to hook up with NSI and transfer money in - took me a couple of months!
But as you're only doing part 1, you'll be fine, and it's quick and online easily.1 -
The need for extra ID checks can happen at any savings provider. If the automatic background checks throw up an issue ( and it can be very small) or I think there are also random checks. So it is not guaranteed your application will be as seamless as the posters above.1

Just completed a Shawbrook new customer application. Very well structured, asks if you have lived at the address +/- 3 years. Good section at the end to complete transfers in, 10 out of 10. Very pleased I didn't follow up my Natwest ISA as well. Hooyu, no thank you.Yeah, cheers but nah, I will stick with yes, thank you and no.
Thank you.2 -
I've been really impressed with Shawbrook Bank to date.
Their rates are often market leading or close to, the banking interface is simple and easy to use, and their customer service so far has been impressive.1 -
Exactly what I have found. I'm still waiting for an isa to transfer from ns&i for nearly three months with many phone calls back and forth between both parties. Shawbrook generally are good though and some blame does seem to be with NS&I for the isa holdup.auser99 said:
