As for the OP, it is worth comparing the pre-reg price for the deal that has been seen against broker prices for the same car brand new.Im keeping an eye on the Corolla estate prices, Excell 1.8 is £36,000 at toyota.Just under £30,000 via broker.Every so often deals come around like the Design for 25k-26K I could live with that.WIll not jump until 2026 as would want a Euro 7 car.0 -

Yep, I bought my car in 2016. Built June 2015, new model came out in sept so dealer registered all stock of old model 30/9. Then started discounting 1k per week. Bought a 50k car for 37k in January with 15 miles on it. Still got it.The only grumble was pdi was done June 2015 on delivery to dealer which started the service interval clock, but warranty started from registration.
But as the car was sold as manufacture approved used then attracted a service plan.
as others have said win win.0 -
Spendless said:^^^^ Exactly this. I spend the first few years of my working life in a car dealership. For whatever reason car showrooms sometimes need to register the car instead of being able to sell as brand new. So they register the car and then sell it on to someone cheaper because it's now 2nd hand and you are now the 2nd owner of the car, paperwork wise.0

Years ago when I worked for a Ford dealer we often registered vehicles listing them as demonstrators. If we had a target of 200 Fiestas and had only sold 190 we registered 10 vehicles as demonstrators - Ford may have offered us a bonus of £100 per vehicle if we reached the target so £20,000 -in the bank. Then there was the Number 1 car in the month competing against say Vauxhall - Ford would tell dealers to register X number of vehicles as Demos and pay us a bonus for doing so. The offer is a bargain as if you keep for 3 years and then trade it in the depreciation will be based on the new vehicle price not the demo price so it is a win win situation.
