FTTC - master socket 5C upgrade?

We need to purchase a microfilter to connect our broadband router to a single-socket Master 5C but before rushing out to buy a microfilter, I am wondering if there's one with a built-in microfilter or at least something more recent?
I cannot find but I am sure it's all down to me using the wrong keywords.

Ask friends, family, neighbours etc.,. if they have a spare microfilter. I have quite a few sitting in boxes along with old modem-routers.
If you don't connect a phone to the line you don't need the microfilter anyway, just a BT plug to RJ11 plug cable (or BT plug to RJ11 socket and the modem cable you already have). The filter is to prevent cross-interference when both devices are in use at the same time.0 -
A microfilter is needed only to protect the landline phone from the noise created by broadband. If you don't have a landline phone, I think you need just BT to RJ11 cable.0

Every internet router I have ever had came with a microfilter. I now have piles of them. They are all much the same whatever company you're with and the ADSL and VDSL (FTTC) ones are the same.
If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.1 -
I have a RJ11 and while it plugs in to the router, the other end doesn't plug in to the BT box directly - looks like the Master 5C socket requires a telephone plug hence why I was wondering if we should get a microfilter or just get a new nicer-looking socket.

Hi M1978.
Are there any telephone extension sockets in your house? If so, then wiring in the NTE5 socket - which has the built in filter - will be made more tricky, and - as pointed out - shouldn't be done by a layperson anyway.
Gumb's suggestions are surely worth a try first, in case a filter just isn't needed at all?
If that doesn't work for some reason, try your local FB Marketplace - there may be someone giving away filters. Fit one until you decide whether it's worth having the master socket replaced.2 -
Thank you all! Broadband provider sent out a microfilter so all good for now although a small part of my OCD dislikes the "cluttered" appearance.
We don't have any telephone extension sockets (or any other telephone sockets) in the house1
