Presumably this oven had the required top-rear clearance.

It did, we suspect the original one from AO would have fitted too.
  • Did AO refund you for the installation cost as they didn't complete the job? We are thinking of using them but not sure if we're better off trying to fit it ourselves if they are likely to throw their hands up at the smallest issue. The oven we want has a plug attached, to replace one with a plug attached, so we don't necessarily need an electrician.

A built-in oven will have a couple of screws either side to hold it in place within the housing. With it being a plug-in, you don't need an electrician, nor do you need to pay someone to remove four screws. The only time you might need assistance is if the replacement oven is bigger than the old one - In which case, AO, Curries, etc, will not modify the housing (outside their skill set and above the delivery driver's pay grade).

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.

Yes no quibbles at all, had the full amount refunded, they were really good and I think I had the money in my account 48 hrs later. Would use them again, just not the fitting service.
  • Thanks, appreciate both replies. It sounds like we don't need installation but it's good to know AO will refund if they can't do the job.
