Thanks Dogbyte009 I've amended the percentages.
Is it still the case that Scotland Standing Charges are considerably higher than those in the south of England?
We generate most of our own electricity in Scotland and export a large amount down south yet our Standing charges seem to be way out of line compared to the rest of the UK.Best Comp wins in 25 years of comping. Holidays to Hawaii, Toronto, Thailand twice, Dubai twice, Cyprus, Spain, Lake District, Glasgow and London. A couple of £1000 wins as vouchers. 2 Dimplex Fires. Baby cot and chest of drawers. £500 of blinds. Shibumi Jacket. Various small cash prizes under £500 and shopping vouchers. Cosmetics & weedkiller!0 -
I'm on a fixed price until October, currently my standing charges are 23.2p for electricity and 24.8 for gas which doesn't seem hugely different from yours.amsquared said:

Yes, mainly because it costs a hell of a lot more per customer to keep the network running - there's a lot of network and not that many of you. Although I think the highest in the country are the North Wales & Merseyside licence area.amsquared said:Thanks Dogbyte009 I've amended the percentages.

It's not about how much you generate.2 -
Standing charges and unit rates for everyone have increased a lot in the last 2 years.Your fix protected you - its over - welcome to the new normal. And remember until July - even with huge govt subsidies those July rates were even higher still - c33p average electric - and 10.3p gas.And millions of households were paying those all winter - and that despite 17p / upto c33p SR electric / c2.3p upto c6.7p gas EPG discounts - from Ofgem market cap levels. And many on commerical linked tariffs - in community / block heating systems - were paying relative to the true 66p / 17p wholesale rates from Ofgem (even higher in many cases during pricing spikes - as some are completely unfiltered - unlike the averaged out future supply prices used by Ofgem). Many still are - as this years rates - recover last years costs.0
