Notice of Proposed Driving Disqualification : Should I respond in writing or attend court ?

You have to be careful with mitigation of the offence itself. It might be that they think your driving was being affected by the situation. Like I say, go to pepipoo lots of lawyers on there who will be able to help guide you to next steps. It would be helpful to you to be able to get statements from social services why someone else couldn't care for him while you serve a ban. If they think that the client could bear say a two week period (what happens when you are on annual leave?) being cared for by someone else, this might guide them to a length of ban that would cause littlest amount of pain to the innocent party. Strictly there is no exceptional hardship in the consideration off a straight ban, but judges are human.dearyn said:Thank you for your input, can you expand on why I may make it worse.....that would be really helpful.
Is Pepino a forum I should ask the same question on ? Sorry I don't know of this . Thank you for your time.0 -
"I was driving the gentleman to an event at the time. I was attempting to verbally calm him as he was showing signs of anxiety at this time"... while driving at 72mph. That strongly suggests driving without due attention.dearyn said:Thank you for your input, can you expand on why I may make it worse

That helpful , so move away from ay more explanation around why it happened, just focus on the fall out on the ban and how it will effect him.
How does the Pepino forum work do i just post a quety like here ?

Doing that in a 30mph zone might push that up a notch.Car_54 said:

It was a 70mph zone, reduced to 30mph.

The "was" doesn't matter, the zone is 30mph hence the trouble.brianposter said:It was a 70mph zone, reduced to 30mph.

I did a speed awareness course 4 years ago and was told on the course that in roadworks they dropped speed by 20mph (so 70 = 50, 50 = 30 etc). I know this won't help but seems completely bonkers that they would do such a thing. Please don't tell me there were no roadworkers on the road at the time either!dearyn said:Apologies :
My situation is I completed a drivers awareness course in July ,22 to maintain my clean licence. In May this year I was doing 72 on my usual stretch of motorway, which I didn't realise was reduced to a 30 mph limit.
“Like a bunch of cod fishermen after all the cod’s been overfished, they don’t catch a lot of cod, but they keep on fishing in the same waters. That’s what’s happened to all these value investors. Maybe they should move to where the fish are.” Charlie Munger, vice chairman, Berkshire Hathaway0
