I wonder if it was originally via the GSP, so you shouldn't have been able to send an invoice because each item goes separately, but it glitched and let you send an invoice and that changed the address to their home address taking it out of the GSP.

    Very weird, whatever actually happened.
This could be a possible explanation as it happened to me - GSP on multiple items does allow you to invoice if i remember but the invoice address will switch back to the buyer's actual address if you try to do anything like combine postage. Apparently on GSP seller's can't do anything with the postage costs like that - you have to leave it for Ebay to sort out (although you can still parcel up multiple items in one package) and let Ebay combine the postage when the customer pays.

I’ve checked my eBay settings and it says I’m not enrolled in GSP, maybe it’s just an eBay glitch.

The first invoice I sent was with combined postage, but that did have a UK address, but maybe that caused a glitch.  EBay does seem to have a few glitches from time to time.

If you were able to send an initial invoice then this wasn’t a GSP item.

I've definitely been able to send an invoice for a GSP item (or at least get the option to) where they bought more than one item - it gives you the option to combine invoices (I think from memory) but it also seems to remove those items from the GSP programme if you actually do it. I didn't go ahead with the action as I obviously didn't want to be on the hook for having to send items to the US but it did seem possible to do it.

If you're not enrolled for GSP though that would seem to rule out that option.

Also it doesn't seem like the buyer actually paid so changing address at checkout wouldn't explain it either.

I never have been able to send a combined invoice for a GSP item and according to the help pages it isn’t possible.

“When you buy an item from a seller using eBay International Shipping, you can benefit from lower international postage costs negotiated by eBay. Keep in mind that you currently won't be able to combine postage if you purchase multiple items from sellers in this programme.”

Once a buyer buys via the GSP they can’t change it and buy direct without cancelling the sale and re buying.

I sell quite a lot through the GSP I find it very handy but if someone wants more than one item and asks me beforehand I have to relist as a bundle, but I don’t like doing that and try and avoid doing it as once I have a message about buying something I don’t like to then delete the listing on eBay in case eBay bots pick it up as an off eBay sale.
