Travel insurance for daughter travelling abroad with friend's family

My daughter is going abroad with her friend and her friend's parents. I am trying to find travel insurance but as she is 17 I can't find a policy that covers her travelling without us. Last year I bought a family one then found out after the holiday that it wouldn't have paid out in the event of a claim as she was travelling with friends.
Please does anyone have a solution to this? This must happen all the time!

Just google "travel insurance children", there are loads of providers!Alternatively, if you have/need an annual family policy, some of these cover your children when travelling without you, others don't, so look for ones that do. But only worth it if you need a family policy for yourselves anyway.Make sure you write a letter giving permission to take your child abroad
