Loading Euro Cash on to a Travel Card

So I bought some euros, as the exchange rate was good, to load on to my Post Office Travel Card. After the euros arrived I went to the post office to load them on and was advised that they cannot do this, and they can only load GBP on to the card which will convert in to my required currency.

So now I'm stuck with euro cash, which was never my intent, and no way to load this on to a card.

Are there any companies out there where I can load physical cash on to the card? As I really don't want to be taking cash abroad with me.

Although I appreciate that this wasn't your preference, having now got the euros in cash form, taking them as they are is likely to be the most cost-effective solution, rather than subjecting yourself to even more FX spread....

    As above, good advice.
A travel card is not like a High Street current account with debit card where you can deposit hard currency.
The reality is that travel cards are now bypassed with so called "user friendly" cards like Chase and Starling which charge no fees abroad.

You might be able to deposit it into a Barclays Euro account.

I'd check with them that you can transfer the euros out to a euro card based account (Starling is probably the best option). You can't transfer euros into the post office card.

You likely would have been better off buying them via Revolut.
