getting confused on roaming charges
Hi folks,
Please do fill a knowledge gap for me here.
Lyca Mobile, we have a package that includes EU data roaming, there's a lovely big tick saying as such. Which seems to infer that data costs would be included when we head over to Poland next week. But, these days, perhaps thats not the case. The more I read, the more confused I'm getting.
From the Lyca EU roaming page, (this is my first post, so cannot post the direct link) -
there are various costs listed, including data at 15p/mb.
So, my basic question here (since the quality of Lyca customer support certainly reflects their suspiciously-cheap prices) - will we be charged for using data in Poland? (Not so fussed about phone calls or SMS)
And if so, anyone experience of using esims? (New idea to me)
Cheers for any advice!

Poland is included if you have roaming - check the link ref your specific prepaid plan.

All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -
That's the link I couldn't include in my post!
And that page is what I'm getting confused by. Appears to suggest both that data roaming is included, but also provides a list of potential charges.
So, it looks like our plan has EU roaming included.
Thus, that therefore means no extra charge (beyond any fair usage policy)? Is that right?0 -
It looks to me as if the additional charges are for people on pay-as-you-go plans, rather than monthly sim.Or for people were roaming is included, but are visiting countries that are not on the list.
So if you’ve got a plan includes roaming, you should be fine. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

The charges listed are domestic rates for PAYG, which will be the same for the inclusive EU roaming on PAYG.
Evolution, not revolution0 -
It is very unlikely that you will have unlimited data abroad (even if you have unlimited data in uk) so there will be charges if you go over your inclusive limit (or if your unlimited is beyond what they consider unlimited). With some plans that will be a proportion of your UK allowance, with others a set amount, with some an amount based on your recent uk usage. However you will not be charged if you do not have a credit balance or auto topup enabled, if you do happen to go over your allowance you will lose access to data until your plan refreshes.0

Just come back from Poland and Czechia and Germany with a Lyca MSE SIM. Roaming is capped at 2.5Gb (I wish I had read that before hand as it packed up) so I had to purchase a Plush mobile in Poland with 200Gb for 10PLN to stay connected but that doesn't work outside of Poland unfortuanately without paying for a romaing upgrade. Also, Lyca use your 100 free EU minutes as your roaming allowance for telephone calls as well so if you use more than 100 mins on holiday, it will stop letting you make phone calls inside the EU country you are in as well only allowing calls back to the UK or to other family members UK mobiles. My wife has a Lebara MSE SIM and her data wasn't capped but they also only give yo the 100 mins to use inside the EU whereas my daughter has an ID mobile (also an MSE offer) and they do bre Brexit roaming (ie use your minutes uncapped inside the EU) and same with data. be warned some of the tarrifs aren't quite as good as they seem.
