    If you had a smart meter installed would not restrict possibilities with other providers, currently Octopus have smart meter tariffs that track day ahead prices loads cheaper then flexible tariff, nobody knows if that will be the case when your current fix expires, maybe best to organise smart meter install during interim period and look to see what tariffs look best nearer the time.
    Yes agreed a smart meter now appears to be the best strategy.  
    I have resisted all this time, getting a smart meter, not sure why to be honest!

    I assume the article is referring to the current new offer below from Octopus and a projection that it may lower in October.
