    A Samsung Galaxy S23?

It"s slightly longer (a couple of mm) and a little narrower (also a couple of mm) than the moto g5
  • One of the new folding phones would be ideal...

apart from the huge price, suspect durability and grudging support.

Not sure why the SE would be the best small iPhone given the 2021 13 Mini is both smaller, lighter and has a much bigger screen? It's not a current model but plenty of retailers still have stock.

Also, from your interest in iPhones, I presume that the very smallest phone on the market wouldn't be of interest? The screen is a mere 2.5inches

Take a look at this website :

    https://www.gsmarena.com/search.php3?

You can select a maximum phone size and any other requirements you may have (4G or 5G, water resistance level, etc) and it will show you what is available. Not all the phones shown are available in the UK but it is s good starting point.

The budget option is sticking with your current phone, I've had my current Samsung (bought sim free, brand new) for almost 6 years.  How old is your phone?

its moto g5 i think 5-6 years old   16gb storage gets full up pretty quick then it can slow down. still performs ok most of the time.

Can you offload apps you don't use, or photographs, music etc.? There are ways of cleaning it up to help with slowness.

From 2017, you'll struggle with the old version of Android and no security updates. It also has a small amount of RAM which is what will cause slow down.

Depends what you use the phone for whether it's worth changing. You could consider a refurbished iPhone 7 or SE 2 Should be in your price range and Will receive security updates for a bit  longer.
