Builder pressuring - should I be worried?

I was quoted for some work done by a roofer last week to start this coming week, my flat felt roof is leaking so they quoted to fibreglass over roof, all seemed fine.
I text them earlier to delay the work due to weather forecast (thunder/rain next few days) and i’ve since had 4 texts and 4 missed calls from them. The last text saying they have bought materials and if i’m not going ahead he will have to drop materials off with me. (This is despite them already having the materials in the van and offering to start work straight away last week)
Should I be worried about this? I feel quite pressured from the texts despite not even cancelling. If this isn’t normal, as I agreed a date can I now cancel without risk? I haven’t paid anything so far.
I’ve read you definitely shouldn't lay fibreglass during rain which is why I wanted to delay. I’ve also just read fibreglass shouldn't be laid onto felt?
Not much info about the company online, recently set up.
Thanks for any advice you can offer.

Do you have the company's address?
Did you agree to the work whilst they were at your home?1 -

Daaff, what actual detailed information do you have about the work they plan to do? Which GRP products - there are lots of them - do they plan to use? What guarantee? And, what's the quote amount?!Easy to get on to the roof? If so, as soon as it dries up, get up there with a can of Cromapol and a big brush. Jobbie jobbed (for a few years).1

I would always be wary about any builder/roofer who can start straight away. The good ones are usually booked up some time ahead.
I would just message and say that you have spoken to your son and he wants to be there when the work is being done so you will let them know when it is convenient to start. Please dont hand over any money to them..1 -
Well they will have booked you in, now they are going to have to find other work at short notice to fill that time. You should speak to them and express your concerns on the weather1

Funnily enough I did use some Cromapol on it but only expecting a very short term fix and wanted it done properly, seems to have stopped it for now.1 -

Their address is registered at their accountants, there's a lot of companies registered there. The director has no previous companies associated with them. As you say brand new company so no track record for the company and the LTD name doesn't bring up much on Google at a glance.
Can you confirm if "wanted time to consider so said this week" means you agreed to the work later in the week whilst they were still at your home or they left and you then contacted them to say you'd go ahead with the work?1 -

Wasn't worried until getting these texts from them. Even if I was cancelling it still seems odd asking me to pay for products that they are very likely to need in future anyway.0 -
