This is my elderly friend's GP surgery and she is well aware of what happened with OPS at this site, who caused complaints.People were using the Pharmacy, booking appointments, seeing a nurse or picking up a form and still got PCNs, I'm told.
Portslade Health Centre, Church Road, Portslade (Hove border) Brighton
This is a 5 to 10 minute walk from:
- a busy shopping street
- the beach & harbour
- Portslade Station which is a direct train ride to Brighton and London
You'll spot a broken OPS (One Parking Solution Ltd) sign in the final photo. That's the only one my friend could find left.
Yep, I hear that OPS were kicked out, so says my friend, after the totally unnecessary aggression caused distress & complaints.
No parking restrictions at this surgery!

Talking of forecourts and bays close to stations (on the previous page), how about this one?
It's right next to the overpass to Hove Station. Literally next to the station.
Seen in the first image, to the left.
Direct train route to London.
Centre of Hove; all roads are permits only.Blatchington Court Trust:
"Supporting young people with sight loss across Sussex"
This is an outreach/mobility unit that includes services users who would have visually impaired passengers.
GSV shows they used to have metal bay barriers - probably proved too fiddly for service users - but in my friend's pics this August, they are replaced with bay numbers and polite (cute!) signs:
'GUIDE DOGS PARKING ONLY' !

Same road, a posh looking vet's surgery:
Wilbury Vets, Hove, East Sussex
A 3 minute walk from the overpass to Hove Station. Direct train route to London.
Close to schools and shops. Centre of Hove; all roads are permits only till 8pm as seen here, or pay by phone but max 4 hours I think. Basically you can't park to commute:

So let's compare businesses and services adjacent to Hove station with a car park there that is managed by a BPA member, to see their wonderful deterrent signs, shall we?
LOL...!
Hove Business Centre overlooks the station.
Lots of business units here:
Here's the BPA mandatory entrance sign...
... oh wait, there isn't one.
You might with 20-20 vision, just about make out a black & white OPS sign high on a wall inside, behind that tree on the right, with what looks like black paint on the lower part of it (in the photo above you can just see it).
No 'managed car park' entrance sign:
What about inside the car park?
Large signs with massive £100 deterrent to protect these businesses from erring commuters?
Nope, course not!
There are a few signs & my friend got pics of two.
One is a badly faded P (a BPA-style warning entrance sign?!) stuck to a bike rack down the far end, and one in a dirty graffiti-covered corner AT THE EXIT, where any parking deterrent / contract message goes unseen:PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
