Short-term broadband contract & moving

Hi all,
We're moving into rental accommodation until we find a house to buy and need to sort a broadband contract. I've used various switching sites and most major providers seem to now lock you in for 24 months. The issue is that we'd like to be moving within 6 months (the initial term of our rental) but where we're looking to buy doesn't yet have full fibre. Looking into the T&Cs of providers, just changing down from full fibre to fibre or if they can't supply at the new address leaves you open to ERCs which rack up to £300+!
Has anyone had:
1) Experience of moving and negotiating an ERC-free package move?
2) Experience of a decent value/speeds month-to-month broadband contract?
Thanks!

Hi,The only monthly broadband contract I know of nationwide is Now TV broadband. They offer £22 a month for the first 12 months but you have to pay a £65 setup fee. It's a bit strange, but you have to select the 12-month contract package, as you go through the setup there is an option for no contract (and the extra £65). It says it is a 30 day rolling contract with no cancellatin fees.Hope this helps. Saying that I've looked at the trust pilot reviews for them and it's not great - however, it may be your only option as the only other company that does it is Hyperoptic which isn't available nationwide.2

Any chance you could use a rolling monthly 4G/5G service, obviously dependent on having a decent signal at your rental?2

There are smaller ISPs who offer monthly contracts. They don't always show up on comparison sites.Andrews and Arnold do (although they are not cheap) and other posters have previously suggested Cuckoo.N. Hampshire, he/him. Octopus Intelligent Go elec & Tracker gas / Vodafone BB / iD mobile. Ripple Kirk Hill member.
2.72kWp PV facing SSW installed Jan 2012. 11 x 247w panels, 3.6kw inverter. 33MWh generated, long-term average 2.6 Os.Not exactly back from my break, but dipping in and out of the forum.Ofgem cap table, Ofgem cap explainer. Economy 7 cap explainer. Gas vs E7 vs peak elec heating costs, Best kettle!2
