Removing blood from block paving.

It looks as if animals have been fighting on our block paving as there are patches and drops of blood all over it.  It can't have been people as the area is towards the back of the house and behind high gates.  I'd appreciate any suggestions on how to remove the stains.  I've tried hot, soapy water and a stiff broom which has helped but not removed it completely.

    Try:
    • caustic soda (potassium hydroxide)
    • drain unblocker
    • thick bleach
    • oxi stain remover
The first two dissolve organic matter (soaked in it), the last two just discolour it.

Biological washing powder - I've used the stuff for cleaning bones, and it strips all the flesh & stains right off.

I have used Swarfega to remove dried blood from clothes in the past, might work on the block paving.

I would also say biological washing powder, because the enzymes in it eat the proteins in oil, blood, etc.  Scatter some on, and keep it damp form a couple of days.

Can the bricks be turned over, or do they only have one face?
