  • Nationwide is a better option than Sainsbury's imo. Sainsbury's let your savings account stagnate in interest. While opening numerous versions of the same account with higher interest and renaming the account as an "issue". For example I have an account that is an issue 32 from last October. The current one is issue 47! I'm getting 2%, but the "47" is paying 4.53%!
They know most people can't be bothered to keep moving their money, that's their ploy 😡.

    Cheeky *******!  😁

I agree. To keep up to date with Sainsbury's you need to open a new account, meaning a new account number, and manually transfer your balance.  That new account number screws up any saved payees in your other accounts.  And there doesn't seem to be any easy way of of closing the old obsolete and empty accounts.

thats exactly why i started this post as i dont want to just go for the highest rate if it involves potential problems. now nationwide is going up to 4.25 i feel less bothered about going elsewhere.
