Wrong bank account details given for wages

I've given the wrong sort code for my wages to be sent to.
What should I do now?
My wages should have been in my account yesterday but they didn't arrive .
I've checked my bank account details that I gave my new employer and have got the middle 2 numbers of my sort code wrong. The sort code, as I have given it, is still Lloyds bank but the wrong branch.
Have I lost this money for ever?

This depends on whether an account exists with such combination of sort code and account number. If it does, then it depend on  how willing your employer will be to try recovering the money and how willing the mysterious recipient will be to cooperate.

Put the details used in here and see if it is a legitimate account.  If not it will bounce back to the employer's bank account.  Might take some time before you get paid though. https://www.sortcodes.co.uk/

Thank you. I've used the checker that you suggested and the 'wrong' sort code with the right bank account comes up as 'not valid', so fingers crossed.

It's really tricky as its 6 weeks worth of wages as I just missed the cut off when I first started the job.....
    What a silly silly mistake

    Thank you for replying

Whenever possible I use copy&paste for this sort of things.

No point contacting your bank branch - you put the wrong sort code in so.it won't even have got there.

If it is an invalid account (you checked) it should bounce back to payroll's bank. Alternatively there is a chance it could be sitting in a suspense account somewhere at your Banking group

What sort code did you put in?
