As the title says, is it possible to perform bank switches without having to have the bank card sent?

All the switches I have done have require card details if there is a card on the account. At least one app could show the card details before it arrived but I can't remember which one.0

I still think it is possible to do a bank switch without a debit card. I think the essential information is the account number and sort code and the debit card details are optional.0

When I have switched, usually the form asks if you have a card. If you do, you have to enter the details.
Assuming you've not had a card (or not had one 'sent' to the account), you should be able to select an option saying the account does not have a card.

The losing bank will typically reject CASS requests without a debit card number stated unless the account does not have an active debit card associated with it - even if the card has not been received or even physically produced yet.jbrassy said:I still think it is possible to do a bank switch without a debit card. You don't get to opt out of having a card sent. And good luck in switching an account that includes a card if you don't have the card number.grumbler said:boingy said:All the switches I have done have require card details...jbrassy said:I still think it is possible to do a bank switch without a debit card. But well done for picking over the bones of other folks' replies rather than offering one of your own.

Well, I don't have any answer to offer - I simply don't know. And if I didn't "pick over the bones of other folks' replies", the OP still wouldn't have the answer that he needed:You don't get to opt out of having a card sent.0 -
I had a switch rejected by the losing bank as I did have a card, but put that I had no card when applying for the switch. That taught me to not be so lazy when switching (I couldn't be bothered to dig the card out).WillPS said:
