Exactly,my thoughts also.On the 9 year old Audi A3 we traded in the discs looked like new.

I know the car isn't due an MOT but do you think the brakes would pass or fail an MOT. If the answer is no then you probably have a case for them to at least be replaced.

Impossible to say, from a vague description of 'scored'.Al_Ross said:When the car gets serviced next or mot'd they will probably then fail it on the brakes !
Discs being worn/scored/pitted isn't, in itself, an MOT test failure provided it's not excessive to the point that the disc is seriously weakened.0 -
You had the opportunity to insist on discs being replaced before purchase, never trust a car salesman. In reality though discs and pads shouldn’t need changing after 12 months and 7.5 k miles
your old car mark up is irrelevant1 -
as for the 7500 mile discs. l would probably be happier to take the original VW discs with a bit of scoring over the cheap chinese motor factor rubbish they would have probably fitted had you forced them to change them
crap discs and pads that warp the first time you use the car in anger and the brakes get hot
lf they were not a VW dealers l very much doubt they would have fitted VW discs and pads for you they would have used the cheapest crap they could have found0 -
as for the number of former keepers this a thing that many people get caught out by and a thing that lots of dealers do on a regular basis
had you looked at the V5 the day you agreed to buy the car it would have clearly said number of former keepers one and the dealer told you the car had one former keeper so did he lie to you? no he quoted what was stated on the V5 he had in his hand which was a V5 that showed one former keeper and the current keeper
when you register the car in your name the V5 comes to you and you are shown as the current keeper and the V5 shows two former keepers. people get caught out by this one every day and some dealers still quote what the V5 says on their adverts
l have recently purchased a pre registered car and the V5 said number of former keepers none so was l the first keeper? . no l was the second keeper go figure

What were the 'other' problems?
