Re: Parking Charge Notice

Thanks for getting in touch.

I was sorry to learn that you received a parking charge. I appreciate this must be frustrating for you.

In order to ensure our customers are able to park without waiting for a space we have Car Park Management in place with time restrictions on length of stay.

You can appeal the parking charge you have received. This appeal would need to be placed in writing by yourself. Doing so allows you to retain your right to formally appeal any decisions made.

Details of the appeals procedure can be found on the reverse of the Parking Charge Notice you received. When raising your appeal please include the following information:

- Parking Charge Notice Number
- Vehicle Registration Number

To further support your appeal please attach / enclose any of the applicable following documents:

- Lidl store receipt or proof of shopping with us
- Disabled badge holder evidence
- Further documentation which may support your case

The Car Park Management Company will then conduct your appeal and communicate the outcome to you directly in writing.

We hope that your appeal is brought to a speedy conclusion.

Thank you for contacting us.

We’d love to hear your thoughts about the service you’ve received today. To take part in our survey please click here and help shape your experience as a customer.
Yours sincerely,
For and on behalf of Lidl Great Britain Limited

    Your links don't work.

    Which PPC issued the charge?

As for their, "We'd love to hear your thoughts about the service you’ve received today" message, my reply would be, "As a result of the service I have received, my family and I will be shopping elsewhere from now on."

The links do not work.  You can upload the pictures to your thread

WHO IS THE PARKING COMPANY ?

Lidl can and do cancel tickets
That is a "jobsworth" letter from customer service holding customers in contempt

It's now time to complain the CEO and prove you are at the moment a valid customer
That foolish letter tells you to provide receipts, send them to the CEO and demand this charge is cancelled

    Google >>> CEO EMAIL LIDL

A 1.30hr time limit is crazy especially when everyone knows it takes ages to get through checkout due to lack of staff

Such a time limit will be set by the parking company as a money trap.  Does the CEO not understand that say a 2 hr period will earn more profit. Such restrictions simply means that Lidl is the most expensive supermarket.

And the so called parking management is just a fairy tale from the PPC's .... they don't manage, they farm car parks for money

Get the CEO to cancel this rubbish. You have many choices where you spend money, the CEO does not have that luxury when it comes to keeping customers

    Standard template response from Lidl.
WHO IS THE PARKING COMPANY ?
    Almost inevitably ParkingEye.

Appeal using the blue text initial appeal template in the NEWBIES FAQ Announcement, first post, enclose a copy of your day's receipt/bank/cc statement (redact account details).  If it was for £30 or more, PE usually cancel quickly.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Shocking response from the CEO's office:

    Parking Charge Notice

Thank you for contacting our CEO. I have been asked to reply to you on his behalf.

I appreciate this is an upsetting matter and I am sorry that you were unhappy with our previous response.

We are unable to make an appeal on your behalf. This is because all appeals need to be placed in writing directly by the appellant. Doing so allows you to retain your right to formally appeal any decisions made by the car park management company.

A reminder that details of the appeals procedure can be found on the reverse of the Parking Charge Notice you received.

Thank you again for contacting us.

If that second page is the reverse of the original Notice to Keeper (rather than from a Reminder letter), it fails to issue the required Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 (Schedule 4) warning to pass liability to the keeper and is a PE 'Golden Ticket' which cannot therefore hold the registered keeper liable. A bit strange, especially as the NtK has been issued (and given) within PoFA prescribed time limits.

Please check out 'Golden Ticket' and how to deal with one in the NEWBIES FAQ Announcement.  Get your initial appeal off to PE, using the blue text initial appeal template from the first post of the Newbies, obtain your POPLA code from PE with their rejection, then develop your POPLA appeal based on the advice for appealing a Golden Ticket.

That's the back of a reminder. An irrelevant document that we don't need to see and doesn't help.

That's not the back of the PCN (the first line on the back gives it away).
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Very well spotted  @Coupon-mad. Saves going down the wrong rabbit hole with this one.

What a shame that they didn't realise that you were not appealing to the CEO but complaining!  I would write back and tell them that it doesn't matter now because neither you nor your friends or family will ever be gracing their stores or their car park again!

Yes you are completely right, my mistake. Here is the back of the original notice. It does have pofa section
Guessing I should appeal using the blue text initial appeal template in the NEWBIES FAQ Announcement, first post

    Will come back once complete
