can't search MSE

when I try to do a search on the MSE homescreen I get diverted to a mostly grey page which is headed "how this site works" and is mostly a disclaimer about giving financial advice etc.  Fair enough but I can;t find any way of getting through it to see my search results.  I must be doing something wrong but for the hell of me I can't find it.

What you describe sounds like the footer of the forum. As you should be able to see when scrolling down on this very page.

I've seen on some pages that aren't loading quickly that the footer can sometimes appear briefly as the main thing on the screen before it gets pushed down by the main content loading.

When this next happens, could you try scrolling up the page just in case the Search page is loading but not pushing the footer down for some reason?

Hi thanks Stephen, yes it is the same grey block as the footer of this page.  I cannot scroll up, I waited a good while to make sure the page has finished loading but still cannot scroll.

I am using windows 7 (I know ??)  and microsoft edge
