Virgin Media TV and Landline-only

My inlaws have had landline and basic TV from Virgin Media for a while.

They have been switched over to digital for the landline so now also have a router box, which I presumed would be a basic wired one but is actually a wifi router and it is configured with a usual SSID and password, so although they are not paying for a broadband service they do now of course have a basic one for sake of the landline which is now VoIP. Bill doesn't refer to any broadband and still just shows phone line and TV only.

Anyone know if the wifi can be used without any extra charges? Haven't tested it yet but presumably it is blocked/data restricted at the moment and they supply wifi boxes so when someone wants to add broadband all they have to do is press a button and it's on. Just wondered if anyone else had any experience of what Virgin Media's "landline only" set up looks like on VoIP switchovers.

Virgin don't do BB PAYG so no charges are possible regardless. Try the WiFi from your phone, I doubt you'll get anything. If the TV box is hardwired you could disable the WiFi in the router via a browser which will reduce the power consumption slightly and the heat a bit more.
