RwandAir delay

hello I am looking for a bit of advice if possible. Me and my partner were flying with RwandAir from London Heathrow to Kigali and then catching a connecting flight onto entebbe however our flight was late leaving Heathrow by over an hour and we only had an hour to catch the connecting flight which we of course missed. RwandAir we’re very good once we arrived and said we had missed our 8.00 flight but we have been put onto the 12.00 flight and they sorted us out some food and drink, however we then had to wait 4 hours to catch the next flight which meant we missed the part of our holiday that we had planned to do once we got picked up from the airport. Do you think I can claim some sort of compensation for the missed activities as well as the delay or not.
Thanks

Forgot to say the delay was apparently caused by a luggage belt breakdown0

If the delay was within the airline's control (unclear if the luggage belt was theirs or the airport's) then they're obliged to pay compensation according to the published fixed tariff, but have no liability under those UK261 regulations for consequential losses such as missed activities at the destination, so you'd need to check the terms of your travel insurance to see if it covers that....0

Ok I’d imagine it was the airports baggage belt so probably not the airlines fault then. Will look at my insurance though. Thanks for your help
