Insurance Voided After Accident

Apologies, but what do you mean by a dummy quotation?2 -
Also check the website for how the registered keeper section is worded.
I remember reading a Ombudsman's decision. The wording stated "are you or will you be the registered keeper?" The woman selected "yes" She make a claim but insurers voided she policy as she was not the registered keeper, I believe her brother was, but the bother had sold her the car.
The Ombudsman found in her favour, as it was deemed she answered the question truthfully as at some point she would be the registered keeper as that was the plan
So as OP is now registered keeper, if question was phrased like that, then that could be one option in any appeal.

I tried using their web form to make a dummy quote, and unfortunately, they indeed weren't lying when I selected business as registered keeper.0 -

Thank you for the tips, but unfortunately, I have not been able to find any wording that resembles the example you have given.
The only wording from them in regard to Registered Keeper is:
The registered keeper is the person to whom the car is registered at the DVLA and whose name appears on the vehicles registration certificate and is responsible for licencing the vehicle.
Is there anything here worth grasping at here?
Many thanks.0 -
Sadly can't see anything. Just make sure they give you a full refund.
On the issue about do you have to declare a claim, my thoughts no, as you can't claim on an insurance you never had
EDIT have you registered the car for SORN? as if not could create problems as it's uninsured.

I have not declared the vehicle as SORN yet.
My new V5C has yet to arrive.
This is all new to me. Once I do declare the vehicle as SORN, would I get a new V5C, or would there be a SORN document to go with my existing V5C?
And would this complicate the selling procedure once I am able to find a buyer?0 -
No new V5C, but will get conformation that you have it SORN.
It makes no difference to new buyer.

Likely to get a better price than selling to one of those services as the person is likely to fix it up themselves to use or sell on. If it's not had a claim made on it and has no category marker then you may well get a higher price too as it won't be listed once repaired. Here's some similar ones listed that will not appear in adverts as damaged once fixed.
The examples shown on the YouTube video seem to show cars on big private lands.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -

As this can be quite a serious matter, shall I open a new thread specifically to ask this question to double make sure?0 -
Your no clams discount would remain as you haven't claimed, but like reporting having an insurance voided you would have to declare the accident, and state claim wasn't made against your insurance policy.
No need for another thread, but being Sunday night it can be quieter. Someone hopefully can confirm or correct that your NCB remains
