Dream Doors Norwich gone bust

Hi,

My parents have been told that the Norwich franchise of Dream Doors has gone bust, and the parent company are trying to get my parents' money back.

We know normally you don't have many rights (unless you pay by credit card). But wondered what the situation was with a franchise. The contract looks, at least superficially, very much like it was signed with Dream Doors themselves, rather than just the franchise.

Thanks

Bank transfer - unfortunately. They wouldn't accept a credit card. Lesson learnt...

Even a debit card would have had rights.

Sadly bank transfer is just like cash.

Indeed - think debit cards weren't accepted either.

Like I say, it's specifically the fact there's still a "parent" company in operation we're wondering about.

A franchise does not have a parent company.
All they have done is paid "Dream Doors" to be able to use their name, sell their products in their area. If a franchise goes bust it has no effect on the owner of the name.
Your only hope is that "Dream Door" will let you have the product as good will. But you might have to find another fitter.

Many well known fast foods are franchises & not run by the name over the door.

Thank you - I put "parent" company as was aware it might not be legally such.

Is this via the same franchise that Op is talking about that has ceased trading?

Not sure how you would pay a company that is no longer trading.
Like OP you need to speak to Dream Doors, who sold the franchise & see if they can help you.
