Why did you remove perfectly good stuff from the Template Defence?  No harm done but why do you NOT want to include those normal sections that apply in every case?

Did you get your defence in by email?

    Did you get an auto-reply?

Of course it doesn't show in MCOL if you emailed it.  An email doesn't somehow update MCOL; their staff will update it manually.

I don't feel confident in my ability to see this through.
We do!  DCBLegal will discontinue.  But please follow the advice at all stages and no removing relevant sections about signage and Beavis!

You have more to do in a couple of months - all stages are fully explained in the NEWBIES thread section headed IMPORTANT: KNOW WHAT HAPPENS WHEN - and the first letter of dross to expect in August from DCBLegal is listed in the first 12 steps set out in the Template Defence sticky.

Thanks so much for your response. I didn't get a notification, so only just seen it.

I took out the two paragraphs as didn't think either of them applied to my case, whoops.

I did submit defence through email but I did not get an automated response, I had to call them to check they had received it.

I got a letter from DCB legal after I submitted the defence, as advised in newbie thread, then waited. In the meantime life went on, I started a new job and then I panicked (understatement, absolute meltdown) when I realised that the 28 (or 33) days had lapsed and thought I hadn't heard about the court date and it had proceeded without me.

After 1 hour 15 mins waiting to speak to county court today (my case still not showing on their system) they confirmed that DCB Legal had not submitted anything to proceed within the deadline.

They explained that DCB legal now have three years to apply to a judge (and pay a fee) for approval to proceed but that I could also do the same and ask for it to be cancelled. What is the suggestion for this? They haven't closed it themselves either which I've read on here has been done.

I cannot thank the people on this forum enough, thank you thank you thank you 🙏🙏 I honestly wouldn't have held my nerve on this if it wasn't for the support and information here.

    Cross fingers.Sounds promising, but beware.

We DO see DCB cases un-stayed.  Quite often.

So keep copies of everything and if you move house in the coming years, you will have to inform the CCBC and DCB Legal too, because what a parking firm 'victim' can never safely do is leave a parking case with potential for urgent letters (with short deadlines) to go to an old address.

Thank you ok, good to know. I made the assumption there'd be some protection for people against that, and that they'd have to contact DVLA to make sure they're sending letters to an up to date address. Naive of me.

If I pay the fee to request it goes to a judge for potential cancellation and that is successful, could they attempt to bring it against me again?

"If I pay the fee to request it goes to a judge for potential cancellation and that is successful, could they attempt to bring it against me again?"

    What?
When I called Nottingham business centre they said I could pay £108 to request the case goes to a judge for approval of cancellation without a hearing, or around £200 with a hearing. They said that now the date for DCB legal to proceed has passed, they (DCB legal) would (and could) also have to pay these fees to progress it.

I'm wondering whether it is worth me paying this fee to request it is cancelled by a judge?

On 24th July you said "I simply don't have the means to pay it" now you have money to throw away, how strange!

    No.  ABSOLUTELY a hard "no".

Never heard such a suggestion... you'd be paying to make their claim 'live' again!

It's over, the can of worms is closed.  If DCB want to open it later, let them pay.  Then they'll discontinue the case anyway.

This won't cost you a penny.
