Yes but if you are using one... not the one you are using as they will be duty bound to tell the lender.

My Partner did a Job swap at the same time as exchange, it was fine but salary was like for like.
The OP is just as bound to tell the lender, yet I get the feeling the broker would be slated for telling the lender, whereas the OP is being encouraged to commit mortgage fraud.

Until it’s in writing it doesn’t carry any weight. If OP is required to sign and return documents in about a week, then I would be inclined to delay as much as you can. If you don’t do anything that could be evidenced before completion you are fine.

Sounds to me like procedures haven’t been followed, so you have time on your side.  I can’t see a large company putting anything in writing until they’ve dotted the i’s and crossed the t’s.

I suspect OP has achieved his objective. Or maybe I’m too cynical.

While the suggestions upthread about what the OP should do in this situation are all hypothetical, I'm not sure it would be sensible for him to come back and publicly outline what he did if he did indeed follow some of the more, er, pragmatic advice.
