Hi everyone,
We had a lie in this morning, most unusual. We've no real plans today though so that's ok. The family all went out yesterday, Laura to a spa with two friends and Brian to a play centre with one of the other dad's and the kids. steve and I tidied and cleaned the house while watching sport.
Today I want to inventory the freezer, I've been threatening to do that for a while. Chickpea dal for dinner, Laura made it in the slow cooker yesterday so that's ok.
I hope all those on holiday are having a great time and that any poorlies are on the mend.
Have a good day.11 -
The suctioning did the job Camelot, I now have a wax free ear - it's not painful, though not my favourite way to spend time. It's better than conventional syringing with water which makes me very dizzy and nauseous.
It's only one ear which gets really waxy (I'm sure you all wanted to know that )
Using hearing aids makes it worse of course.
I'm going to collect my new glasses this morning so I'll be able to see as well!!10 -
Ear suctioning sounds interesting Scarlet, I may have to investigate that for my hearing aid ear!As part of my ongoing financial decluttering I've ripped up and burnt all the cheques from my Lloyds TSB cheque books, both dated 2011. As the two banks are now separate I couldn't use them, not that I've written a cheque in many a long year, probably from 2011 as both were unused. All now burnt along with other paperwork.I'm hanging about in the living room waiting for the postie so I can give him a letter for posting, that saves me going into town today. This hanging about does involve a little bit of sloth.10

Been into town to collect my new glasses this morning. Rain was forecast so we wore jackets - still dry here.
Mr F is going to be in the office and I will be sewing.

Afternoon everyone
Cloudy here with a little sunshine - I've got the washing line full - I'll get it ironed later. I'm all packed ready to go away tomorrow night - I'm staying at Newcastle airport overnight as I fly at 6.05 on Wednesday morning.
I'll be in Croatia about 9.30 and have my instructions from DD telling me which bus I need to catch and she'll be waiting for me. It's her birthday on Wednesday so lovely that we'll be spending the day together - I don't know where those 27 years have gone!
This afternoon I've got the ironing to do and then plan to read yesterday's Sunday Times - I may do the weeds at the back too.
Camelot - it sounds really interesting. I should have looked for Banksy tickets earlier though as it's sold out - unless I wanted to go in the early hours of the morning! I completely forgot about it.
Right I'd better get on - hope everyone has a good day today x9 -
Now looking into ear suctioning for DDad who wears aids in both ears and cannot hear a thing. Has been getting steadily worse since his arrival in April. Thank you for mentioning it @ScarletRibbons x
Back from my interview. Was tachycardic on arrival due to DDs driving! Put it this way, I didn't make an eeejit of myself and actually had a good chat with the panel. Will hear tomorrow. Won't be too despondent if it doesn't come off. VR letters coming out on Thursday.

Hi Coxy and Gers, if you're thinking about ear micro suctioning, you may have to pay for it with a private audiologist, as not all Drs do it, though I think they don't all do wax removal by irrigation now either.
I usually pay £27- £28 per ear, and it's so easy. Noisy though !9 -
ScarletRibbons - Mr F and I get ours done at the hospital - free.

Evening all. Had a lovely weekend away and have made the decision to move to the West Country from Kent. agent coming to sign us up this week and have photos done.
haven't kept up over the weekend, but need to be even more OS now!Carolbee9 -
Locally its between £55-60 to have ears done round here. which can be a bit pricy to say the least .Drs or nurses no longer do it here either, so you have no choice but to pay. I too wear hearing aids in each ear, they seem to block more quickly than they used to that's for sure, but I'm pretty good at lip reading which helps I suppose.
Grey, overcast damp day today, but got a bit more of the blanket done for DGGD number one.
Its my third one, I made one for the new baby which will go out with my DD when she goes to see her in NYC at the end of next month.
Then the two little girls of my eldest granddaughter spotted it, and they both wanted one each They are the size of a single blanket, and take about two months to make ,depending how my right lymphodemic arm is working, so one is finished, and the other one has about two thirds more to go. both of them are part of their Christmas presents so they will be wrapped and put away and added to books etc when its nearer the time.
Apart from that, not a lot done today, bit of a please-myself-day today its Dobbies coffee morning tomorrow, then fingers crossed on Wednesday the last of my dressing & drain changes with the district nurse at Rochester before my op. on 1st August which is a week tomorrow. Unless there is a strike of some sort
Hope everyone has had a good Monday, my DGS Ben is home tomorrow for a few weeks, so he will be round harvesting the spuds from my garden at some point this week.
Cheers chums
