Avis scratch issue

Hi..we booked a car to use in faro portugal.on returning the car there was a 'new' scratch was measured and pictured as under 45 mm. I was assured.. that it would reviewed fairly.and the car receiver said call customer services and it will be cancelled. So 10 min later a quote is sent.. the scratch is now miraculously over 200 mm long.. fast forward 2 days later and they have helped themselves to over £1300 from my bank account..

A complete disgrace .they obviously have no Intention of doing the work as there was a previously noted scratch on the car that  is much bigger..we have pictures of the scratch and the previous bad scratch

What do I do..I have written to avis damages..no response of course..I have independent quotes..who are quoting £120..

I feel so ripped off..

Whether or not they actually plan to fix the damage is immaterial, and likewise your quotes are irrelevant.

The primary issue is what the Ts & Cs of your contract state regarding damages and excesses, so that's where you need to focus your attention.

How did they help themselves to money from your bank account? Did you use something other than a CC? If a CC, simply dispute the charges and present your evidence if necessary. Doesn't sound as if you took out an excess policy either.
