It's quite nice for poaching pears in, and the alcohol boils off too. Freeze a few spoonfulls in an ice cube tray for using in apple dishes such as pie or crumble. Or heat it to boiling to get rid of the alcohol, simmer it down a bit till concentrated, cool and then use it as a cordial with ice cubes and lemonade or soda.

I've found a bottle of M&S ready made mulled wine lurking at the back of the cupboard, was given it last Christmas, says on it drink within 6 months of purchase, so it's well past it use by date, dare we drink it?

  • Surely all mulled wine becomes non alcoholic mulled wine as soon as you boil it?

It may taste a bit 'dusty' iykwim, but won't hurt you. We've recently drunk one bought last year from Mr S, and it was fine.
