Yes, I think I will get a bundle of A4 paper and a pencil.   Feels like I'm back doing my O levels   (if anyone knows what I'm talking about!!)

draw.io is free and straightforward to use, and has floorplan shapes built in

Just remember that the scottish and/or AirB&B police probably won't be round to check .... so accuracy may not be essential.  ;)

One thing about pencil and paper -
You already know how to use them and so don't need to learn how to use a new software.
It's not quite as easy to change things on a paper diagram, but how often are you going to be moving the walls or building an extension?
Of course you always have the option of doing it on paper and once you have it as you like then having someone else redraw it on software.

Thanks for all your suggestions.  I'm an Airbnb host in Scotland.  The Scottish Govt have introduced legislation so that all hosts (even someone  like me who just seasonally rents a room within my home) has to have a floor plan of the whole house then highlight the areas the guest would be staying in, showing fire exit plan, fire extinguishers etc.  I don't think it has to be professional standard but I haven't a clue where to start.  I've owned the house for over 18 years so although I have the brochure (which luckily has exact room sizes) there is no floor plan.
Are there closely similar houses in your area that are up for sale or recently sold?

Right Move should have floor plans that you can copy.

Otherwise pen and paper should be easy enough to do.

A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".
