Hi all,  does anyone know of anywhere free (and relatively easy to use) software so that I can draw a floor plan of my property.  Someone mentioned Powerpoint but I don't have MS Office.  I also heard Google Sketch was free, tried but can't seem to get on there either.  Any help would be great, thanks.

If it's just for floor plans then put - draw floor plans - into a google search, there are plenty to choose from either online or downloadable.
Tip- also take a look at carpet/flooring online stores, they often have a simple floor plan drawing tool.
I can't comment on any particular one, I have full AutoCAD 2000i at home so have never needed to use anything else.

Brill.  Thanks for this.  Will do the Google Search tomorrow and see how I get on.  Cheers.

I think you mean Google Sketchup, which they bought in 2006 and later sold in 2012.

Since then there is a Free version, but its web-based only, and as you'd expect limited.

Use a word processor, such as Word, to draw such shapes.  You can edit the size of these shapes, so if you had a 2.85m long wall you could just set the shape width/height to 2.85cm.

How accurate do you want the floor plan to be?

If it is a recent purchase, the estate agent may still have a record of the floor plan.
A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".

Indeed, it might help if we knew just what this floor plan is intended to be used for.

Thanks for all your suggestions.  I'm an Airbnb host in Scotland.  The Scottish Govt have introduced legislation so that all hosts (even someone  like me who just seasonally rents a room within my home) has to have a floor plan of the whole house then highlight the areas the guest would be staying in, showing fire exit plan, fire extinguishers etc.  I don't think it has to be professional standard but I haven't a clue where to start.  I've owned the house for over 18 years so although I have the brochure (which luckily has exact room sizes) there is no floor plan.

Is it has to be software?

I used to use graph paper with pen and pencil...

It's an option that many forget, draw it on paper.
Then scan it or photograph it if you need to send it online.
