Opened Lloyds Cash ISA but not do not require it

I applied online for a Lloyds one year cash ISA a few days ago. I completed the online application but then discovered that I had to print out the form and post it. This fact together with slightly better rates appearing subsequently lead me to not wanting this ISA.

Can anyone advise what to do in this case? As I have not sent in the form or funded the ISA can I just forget about it and move on and take out another ISA elsewhere?

I did try ringing Lloyds and after countless menus and automated ID checks, a further hold for 20 minutes the system told me no one was available and the line was cut off. Life is too short!

Accounts generally have a funding window which means if you don't fund it within the relevant timeframe, the account will be automatically closed. You can just forget about the account and open another one somewhere else.
  • I have the exact same issue. I hadn't transferred anything into the Lloyds account because it was such a faff to do so but now rates are higher elsewhere so I'm unsure what to do. Are you going to attempt to open a new account with another provider?

I filled in the Lloyds online form but haven't gone any further with them. The cash ISA was going to be used for transferring a maturing Virgin ISA. I've now logged on to Virgin and arranged for the ISA to be transferred to a new Virgin cash ISA at maturity in a few days.

All done online in a few minutes.

Can't be bothered with a bank that makes the procedure difficult and can't be @rsed to answer it's phones. Especially as I am an existing Lloyds banking customer.

    Rant over :-)
