Thanks for the start nmlc, looks a bit overcast at the moment but forecast to be 24c here in Kent
I'm up with the birds this morning as I have a district nurse appointment and the hospital transport say to be ready two hours before its due so I have to be ready to go by 07.15. its only 6 miles away and the DN offices are in the Wisdom Hospice at Rochester. The hospice apparently gets funds from the NHS for letting them use some part of their buildings so it gets them extra funds . I have to go once a week to have dressings changed along with a new drain. Hopefully not for much longer as my op. is fingers crossed scheduled for 1st AugustI can't book a return trip until my stuff has been done and then it can be up to a two hour wait until I'm picked up. But I can get a cuppa there and I usually take my knitting with me. If the weather has been good some of the patients beds are rolled out to the garden and I have a chat to them . It gives them a different face to talk to, and I think we both get something out of it. But it will wipe out half of today as I probably won't be home until just before lunch.
Half way through the week already and three quarters through the month. Time literally does fly at the moment
Hope everyone has a good day and the sun shines down on you all,(but not as hot as Europe thats far too warm )
Take care though and don't forget the sunscreening

Good morning - thanks for starting us off nmlc.Yesterday was a lovely day, no wind with a gentle heat and clear skies. I got a small wash out on the line first thing before going into town. My recycling bag was overflowing so that all went to the tip and I finally got to the bank to exchange the two old paper five pound notes for crisp new ones.I sent off photos of my car damage to the coachworks, the chap there sent a reply telling me that it'll need a new door and sill moulding. I was expecting that to be the case. The estimate will come in later today then I can get it booked in and sort out a hire car too.On a more positive note I went out about 7pm to cut the back lawn as the grass badly needed it. There was still a shaft of sunshine on the patch of scabious at one edge of the grass which had 12 small tortoiseshell butterflies on the flowers. Yes, I counted them, what a delight it was to see them, they mesmerised me for ages. I've never seen so many in one place. My lawn now has a corner of uncut grass as I swerved round them. 😀This morning my cleaner is coming and I have a physio appointment so I'll be getting out of bed soon. My digestive system is not happy with me eating the leftover takeaway so I've been awake for ages. It'll soon be fine!I can't remember who's away, who's going away or who's due back, there's so much coming and going just now.Happy Wednesday to all.9

just a thought re the damaged door. I had a similar situation when a driver failed to stop. My local garage managed to find a replacement door on eBay which cut the cost drastically9

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. The weather here is depressing me now so I am not mentioning it!!
It's a day of deliveries here. An Ocado delivery is imminent and a text tells me I have no subs or OOS. It's mostly f & v, dairy and bakery. Then 2 deliveries for Sparkle. A supply of her wet food (biscuits came last week!) and a big bag of cat litter. No bus trip today. Although bus buddy is now back from her holiday she wants to postpone until next week as she feels bogged down with "stuff" just now. She soon gets in a tizzy! Despite having had a lovely holiday her DH is still saying that's his last flight now. He can't cope with the airport hassle etc. Considering his age I am not surprised, he has done well to keep going abroad this long. He's well into his 80's now.
As I am grounded I suppose I had better show willing and do a spot of cleaning and a catch up of washing. Once again it will be draped upstairs over the airer. It looks quite nice at the moment but the inevitable drizzle is forecast for later.
(Rudely interrupted there by the Ocado man. The carrier bags are all lined up in the hall so better get them emptied)
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need. GERS I hope the physio helps and JACKIE I hope you are not kept waiting long for the transport. Take care one and all and be safe xx

Hi everyone,
Ouch to the car repairs Ger, I hate it when it's my fault as well.
I hope you don't have too long to wait at the hospice Jackie.
I'm waiting myself, for Steve to get dressed so that we can go to Chris and Crystal's. We've not seem them for nearly three weeks because I was ill so it will be lovely to see Nate, he is nearly walking now. Steve will be helping Chris empty the stables of all the junk in there (a lot of it was left by the previous owners). They are finally having them refurbished to stop them falling down but it has taken a lot of jumping through hoops. The house is listed so the stables are as well so consent took a while and negotiation as to what they could and couldn't do. They also had to wait for an archeological survey to be done, which took a while and then for the builder so they are just getting in under the wire before their planning consent runs out.
Have a good day.11 -
Morning everyone you were lucky with the weather yesterday Gers it was torrential all day here but it’s meant to be nicer today well 3 weeks in a row I’ve stayed the same at WW it’s taking some shifting this weight I’ve downloaded my fitness pal on my I pad today to see if I can jiggle something about to make it work I’m sticking to the points but it’s just not coming off . Dogs been walked chicken salad tonight I had a couple of pieces of chicken in the freezer well I’ve got a lot in must start using them up off to work in a minute we have a lot of work in but I’m just steadily working through it it’s never ending. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing9

Morning all its a drizzly here maybe it will brighten up later but i have given up trusting the forecasts always says no rain but we have had it every day so far not sure what i will do today probably housework as i need to be on top of everything when Matthew starts coming for his 3 days a week on Monday
Gers I hope the repair isn't too horrendous its just the aggravation of getting it done thats the worst bit
Snoozer have a good day and enjoy seeing Nate. Will they use them as stables or are they repurposing them?
TA I am beginning to feel like your friends husband and I am not yet 60 its all such an effort and it seems so much harder now than before Covid
London 1 Hope all goes well at the nurses and you dont have to wait too long for transport
Like Gers i am afraid i can't remember who is coming and going on holiday so if its you have a wonderful time and if your returning welcome back
Right better get on and have a cuppa before i start with the hoover have a good day whatever you are up to xx

Re the car - this is the first time I've been at fault, the previous two were others driving into me so I'm doubly aggrieved! Thanks Poppy.TA - enjoy your day at home. I'm almost 'there' with not wanting to do the airport hassle any more too. It's not even the security bit,it's the endless walking, changing terminals, waiting around which I find so tiring.Snoozer - seeing Nate again will be lovely. My last home in Newcastle was listed so I understand the pain of doing any changes or repairs.Bella - three days a week with a young child is brave of you. One of my friends has been doing this for about a year now and is at the point of saying 'no more'. Hold onto the joy.I've done a quick wash and hung it out and I've polished two pairs of shoes.
It's been years since I did that, it brought back so many childhood memories of my dear Dad who was a stickler for doing it every night before bed.

Mornng all. Window update, upstairs bay done, downstairs one today. They phoned again to check all was well..When the windows and the porch is done our house will be all fur coat, no knickers as my mother used to say. Beautiful on the outside, horendous on the inside...but never mind, then we can at least start on two of the bedrooms. I've done nothing this week yet apart from make coffee and bacon sarnies. Got a friend coming round this morning for coffee and I can foist another couple of plants on her, yay...carolbee, yes, it's not far as the crow flies but quite far if you have to drive it. It's not far from Avebury and Silbury Hill, worth a look but the parking is a bit dicey, there's a car park just outside the village but it only takes a few minutes ot walk into it. The pub is quite good. You might even see Julian Cope if you remember him, he lives in Calne I think. Izzy, you may have diet fatigue, it strikes now and then, keep plodding, you can do it! Floss, the main answer to the fatigue is just do nothing or as little as you can, it will pass. Thing is, with al the treatment, once it's stopped, you might feel a bit abandoned because after all the weeks of appointments and checks and treatment, when it all stops pretty much immediately, it can be a bit disconcerting. Is there a Maggies Center anywhere near you? They're very good for somewhere to go and chat or hang out. I can't be of more help sorry, I wasn't one to want to talk because I was so angry, I didn't want to be reminded more than I already was. snoozer, enjoy your day! woop! stables? it always sounds so romantic to have things like that but the reality is usually different
hope they can sort them without too much trouble. Jackie, hope your lift home comes quick today! mucky, take it easy to you too...TA, it can be very depressing when its just rain rain rain..I don't mind a bit of it, but weeks on end is so disheartening..I just like it to stop when my water butts are full
right, I'm orf to put bacon under the grill, take care all....
