Sky Contract End Email

I have just received an email from Sky telling me that I will save £300 a year if I do nothing at the end of my minimum term in September.

When I look at my future bills my £300s worth of savings translates to an extra £8 per month or 11% increase. The only ‘good thing’ is that there is no contract renewal.
I suppose that the next thing to do is to calculate what a new customer would pay and then have a conversation with CS.

Similar here. It's the broadband side that's ending for me and the 'deal' is a 21% increase from my current offer to the new one. I'm still a few weeks away from going into 30 days remaining so I'll be contacting them nearer the time.

Sky have been doing this for a while - I had an email last November headed "good news -we are extending your offers" - but as per Dolor , the "savings" were actually £15 pm less than my then contract savings PLUS when I phoned to negotiate renewal, they admitted that the prices would go up in April 2023 by the "usual amount" !!0

Apart from the fact that I think that the email is intentionally misleading, the offer is 12 months with no contract renewal. There is however a sentence in small print which says that ‘prices may increase during the renewal term’. This to my mind runs counter to a 12 month offer.brewerdave said:Sky have been doing this for a while - I had an email last November headed "good news -we are extending your offers" - but as per Dolor , the "savings" were actually £15 pm less than my then contract savings PLUS when I phoned to negotiate renewal, they admitted that the prices would go up in April 2023 by the "usual amount" !!Edit: I have just spoken to Sky and had my annual whinge. I asked CS to explain how I was saving £300 when the savings included some packages that I didn’t have. For example, they were quoting a saving of £36 a year when my Ultra HD package includes HD. The going got a bit tough for the poor guy when I queried why they were offering me something through until Sep 24 along with a small sentence on price rises. The guy went very quiet when he said ‘we apply annual increases as does the rest of the industry’ and I responded by saying that my BB provider doesn’t increase its prices annually. He also admitted that he didn’t know of a single Sky customer that was paying the full package prices. Why do they play these mind games? In the space of 24 hours, I have gone from being a relatively content Sky customer to one that is thinking of giving Sky 31 days notice.2
