Wonder if seller knows the laws in the UK or just creates his own?

The seller offers circuit boards from scrapped TV's, Possibly from landfill because most of the listings state the
items have water damage/heavy rust/oil/staining and general dust. Sounds like the TV's were outside for
a decent length of time. Lists as tested and working, not so sure about that but chose a different seller anyway.

How is this for the item description...
NO Return NO Refund sale as my T & C on used not new items and B2B Sales terms apply
Feedback 0 to 50, new user or Guest checkout user/buyer, Please don't straight buy it, ask me first to buy, i need more information’s about your purchased to allow you to buying from me,
if you aren’t happy to give informatiNon’s than take your purchased somewhere else, I’m not happy to sell you due to having had very bad experiences so i stop it sells who have 0 to 50,
new user or guest check out user/buyer, If you still bought it I'll cancel order and refund your money, along sides some of UK blacklisted areas, cites, London, Liverpool, Birmingham, Nottingham, Oldham,
Leeds, Bradford, Manchester's, Bolton, some of postcodes starting TW, CV, BT, Ireland, Scotland, all ISLE of.....
If you still bought it I’ll cancel order and refund your money, and reports to eBay about your multiple eBay accounts.

So if you have less than 50 feedback you MUST have multiple accounts?  And because your buying this your a B2B customer?
Maybe they are psychic?
Did he miss any major cities to Blacklist?

His feedback score is higher than I would have expected so maybe he puts all that to scare customers away, I quickly
went back to the search results to find another seller.

'Rules' - I know Ebay are big and have a lot of money but I don't think they are allowed to set the laws yet :)

no - they can however set the rules of selling on their platform and their buyer protection rules apply and would override anything put in the listing

Can they actually blacklist whole postcode areas for no reason other than location?

Yes, they can.  Anyone can choose not to send to any area they don't want to.

Those terms are the most prominent text on the page so it drew my attention quickly. I just thought
its one of those sellers with unknown goods from the recycling centre or somewhere with external
storage open to the elements but is not happy when they sell something that does not work.
But his feedback was better than expected 99%+

I quickly went back to the search and found another seller, the item arrived on Wednesday and fitted later
that evening working perfectly so all good.

Just bonkers the rubbish sellers put and sometimes wonder if they know that loses them sales? I could
not be bothered to contact them.

  • He can say whatever he likes in his listing, doesn’t mean that it voids eBay rules and general legislation.

    They're clearly an idiot.

It's not uncommon for anyone to have ts&cs that go against the law. Some of the big companies will have them. The law trumps them all and, in the case of Ebay sellers, Ebay law trumps them all.

I was once taken to court by a publishing company, they tried to force me to a contract that I hadn't agreed to. They kept referring to their terms. Anyway I defended the claim and they never turned up at court. The judge was livid with them and told me that it happened a lot with different companies, they just rely on people just believing what they read.

They barely get read anyway. I'm surprised Ebay haven't developed something that stops the nonsense appearing.
