India is withdrawing the 2000 rupee note, it will no longer be legal tender in Sept 2023.
Is there anywhere in the UK can i exchange these notes for GBP ? I have tried High Street Banks inc. the State Bank of India and travel money exchanges, so far none will accept the notes. I am not planning to take a trip to India and do not know anyone who is that could take the money for me. I also do not have bank account in India.
If anyone has managed to exchange the 2000 rupee note to GBP in the UK i would appreciate knowing how it can be done.

Do you hold Indian residency? I believe the Indian rupee is a restricted (‘closed’) currency and non-Indian residents are officially not allowed to take INR out of India in the first place, or indeed import them back. This might be why you are struggling to find anywhere to exchange them.
Is it just one or two 2000 rupee notes? Perhaps a donation to an UK based Indian charity in your area?1 -
Try selling them on Ebay or Gumtree.

I reckon Westin is on the ball - as Indian currency is not allowed to be taken outwith the country no external official financial institution can transact an exchange.

As an aside I was in India when they withdrew the 1,000 & 500 Rupee notes and introduced the 2,000 one. It was utter bedlam but fortunately debit and credit cards were accepted in more places than we’d expected. This still left us with 45-60 minute queues at ATMs every other day to withdraw the maximum R2,000 allowed.0
