ThanksDave0 -
yup i know what use mean, was in tesco car park in antrim a few months ago, normally park well away from everyone and walk but this time i was only nippin in for some tabloids and parked closer to the door, came out and the person who was parked next to me had left his trolly right next to the car, had slammed into the front of the car causing about £150 worth of damage, when asked the guy could he check on the security cameras he informed me that they don't cover all angles at all times and when he checked back right enough it hadn't recorded the incident, i dunno why some people park so close to other people were they won't walk an extra min  :rotfl:0

After damage by trolleys and by careless opening of car doors, you will always find me parked in the middle of two spaces in car parks. The spaces are too narrow anyway.0

agree with you totally, sometimes do that myself parking in between 2 spaces, example the other week i parked in dublin road multi story car park and was very little room beside me on the second floor, came back and there was a car parked so close he/she would of practially had to have climbed out there car to get out without hitting both r doors, and the funny thing was that there was about 30 empty spaces a couple of seconds walk away on the 3rd level,0

got my car back today after getting the damage fixed.
Unfortunately no cameras anywhere in that area record even though 60'000 + cars use that 0.8 mile of motorway every day and at christmas it rises to over 70'000 a day.
When i contacted the police on friday last week i was told that the lorry would have had to have been stopped within a few hours for anything to happen as they could deny being there or deny the collision. They also said that that there are collisions everyday on that stretch of motorway !!
i was unable to get the reg as the reg plate was covered in dirt.
I was thinking of writing a letter to some authority who would be responsible for the cameras on that road as given the statement from the police i am not the only person who could have benefited from a recording camera.
thanks all for your reply
at the time i was ready for smashing every lorry window that i saw but now i will just have to find a few money saving tips to get back the cost of repairs for my car.0 -
I had a spat outside B&Q in Newtownabbey a while back. We were taking our 1 year old twins out of the rear seats when one of the big trolleys came rolling down the front and slammed into our car. I looked up and seen a woman putting plants into her car.She was the only person about. I asked her if the trolley was hers. She said she had finished with it!!!! She refused to acknowledge it ws her fault, smelt heavily of drink and tried to drive off. I took out my phones and started taking pics of her, her car reg etc. Called the police and when they arrived showed them the photos. They checked with B&Q and they had the whole thing on CCTV. Even after that she refused to accept it was her fault. When PC Plod told her that she would be facing criminal charges I got a call to call to her house and collect the cheque covering full damages.Result.0

Its a pity you were unable to identify this lorry by even type or load. Also a Great believer in what goes around.
Would take issue with the police statement that the driver would have to be stopped within a couple of hours. Tachograph records are required to be kept for most goods vehicles.0 -
I work in Mallusk, and find that a lot of drivers just drive out of side roads in front of you - regardless - is this how people are in Belfast? I know they may be in a hurry, but I might be too? :mad:0

Had something similar happen to me a couple of monmths back in Coleraine - As I was comimg round the outside of a roundabout the lorry on the inside lane (who I was already giving pleanty of room) decided to pull into my lane - with nowhere else to go I hit the kerb and destroyed a brand new tyre. I couldnt get the registration of the lorry as it was towing a chipper but got the company name and called his boss - after a few calls he decided that sending me the cash was the easiest way to shut me up
(and just to say there are still some nice people on the planet - as I was changing the tyre by the side of the road 3 different people pulled in to offer me a hand) 2022 win - Radiate Beauty Balm0
