There are several traffic cameras on that flyover. Not sure who you could ask to get them checked though..

There are traffic cameras on the flyover but i was informed that they do not record.

They are traffic monitoring cameras .
  • Can you recall any details of this other vehicle?
    Was it articulated?
    Any noticable livery?
    Type of load?
Think hard. This type of info could highlight either the destination or the owner involved and give the Police something to work on without the help of a vehicle registration.

Today I was in a car park in East Belfast when a person in a 4x4 kindly reversed into my car, then they drove off as if nothing had happened!

There was very little damage done and as I was so taken aback I didn't get the reg. Is this the way it is now? They must have known they had touched my car, an apology would have been nice! Am I just old fashioned?

Unfortunately the days of common courtesy and social responsibility are disappearing quickly. A friend of mine returned to his car from a Church service on Sunday to find someone had thumped into it, damaging the rear panel and wrecking a wheel and tyre. No witnesses, no note left, nothing. was right across the road from an open newsagents, they heard a noise but saw nothing, it's sickening.

I can't really blame some people who don't stop, half the people I meet are only too quick to open some compensatory suit against the next person. The litigious society has ended with everyone not willing to take the blame for their actions as that's an admittance of guilt and only opens them up to legal action.

  • I still like to think there are enough decent folk out there who will still take responsibility for their actions

What were the details of the collision? Even though the OP does not appear to be in the wrong, sometimes the results of someone elses mistake can be avoided with the benefit of experiences such as these.
I had a lorry pull out on me down a sliproad and I had to slow and pull partially onto the grass verge to avoid a collision. Lorry was in the wrong, but I think I'll avoid a situation like that in the future by not putting myself in a position where a lorry can pull out on me down a sliproad.
